Summary
The purpose of this study is to determine whether different instruments used to assess how much muscle, fat and bone an individual has provide similar values.
Description
We are currently collecting information on musculoskeletal health in an ongoing large study. The study involves assessing body composition and bone health in 5,000 individuals using one of three (3) dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) machines. This current study will image groups of people on each of the 3 DXA machines so that equations can be generated to enable data obtained on any one machine to be converted to that obtained on the other machines.
