Summary
This study addresses the cycle of CT overuse by developing a recipe for communication that will in turn address perceived empathy and patient trust by helping the patients see the doctor as more empathic and develop more trust for their doctor. Furthermore, this study works towards helping the doctor?s confidence in their decision about CT scans ? by demonstrating that these decisions can be accurately/reliably made by using the patient?s emotional signals, in conjunction with other information.
