Phase N/A

This study investigates how different sources of protein affect the levels of amino acids in the blood. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, which are essential for the body's functions. The study aims to understand the impact of consuming various protein sources on these amino acids.

Participants will attend a screening day and four testing days. During testing days, participants will consume a meal and have their blood drawn through an IV line over about 5.5 hours. They will also need to eat a provided dinner the night before each testing day. There is no cost to participate.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 55 to 75 years with a BMI between 20 and 35 can participate. They must be weight stable, non-smokers, not have diabetes, and not currently following a vigorous exercise regimen. Participants should be willing to travel to Purdue University for study visits.
  • Study details: Participants will consume study meals and have blood drawn on testing days. A placebo is not involved in this study. Participants must be willing to consume study foods.
