This study investigates how individuals with Chronic Pancreatitis experience pain even when scans show no blockages or other evident reasons for the pain. Chronic Pancreatitis is a condition where the pancreas becomes inflamed over a long period, potentially leading to permanent damage. The study uses Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) to understand the nervous system's role in pain perception without invasive procedures.
In this study, participants will undergo Quantitative Sensory Testing, which involves a series of small tests to map nerve networks. Participants may receive different types of interventions, therapies, or surgical procedures as part of the study. A control group of individuals without pancreatic disease will also be included for comparison.
- Who can participate: Adults aged 18 and over who do not have a personal history or symptoms of pancreatic disease can participate.
