This study investigates whether aspirin can help prevent the return of cancer in patients with HER2 negative breast cancer. HER2 is a protein that can affect the growth of cancer cells. This study focuses on patients who have already received treatments like chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation therapy.
Participants will either receive aspirin or a placebo, which is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine. The study will compare the effects on invasive disease-free survival, which means living without the cancer coming back.
- Who can participate: Adults diagnosed with stage II or III node-positive, HER2 negative breast cancer within the last year can participate. Participants must have completed chemotherapy or radiation therapy at least 60 days before joining.
- Study details: Participants will be randomly assigned to take either aspirin or a placebo daily. They can use acetaminophen for minor pain.
