This study investigates the effectiveness of using a computer-aided detection (CAD) system during colonoscopy procedures. Colonoscopy is a medical test that allows doctors to look inside the large intestine for polyps or cancer. The purpose of this study is to see if using the CAD system helps doctors find more polyps during these procedures.

In this study, participants will be divided into two study arms. One arm will have their colonoscopy in a room with the CAD system, which helps doctors detect polyps by showing alerts on the screen. The other arm will have their colonoscopy in a regular room without the CAD system. All procedures will be done by experienced doctors, and any polyps found will be sent to a lab for further examination.

  • Who can participate: Adults aged 45 to 89 years who need a colonoscopy for screening, surveillance, or diagnosis can participate. Those with emergency colonoscopy needs or specific bowel diseases cannot join.
  • Study details: Participants will have a colonoscopy, which may involve using a CAD system to help find polyps. If the CAD system is used, it will show alerts during the procedure to help the doctor find polyps.
