This study investigates the use of a special imaging technique for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer is a disease where cells in the prostate gland grow uncontrollably. The purpose of this study is to see how well a new imaging method can find prostate cancer in patients who have been newly diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer.
Participants in this study will have an imaging scan called a PET/CT or PET/MRI, which helps doctors see inside the body. This will be done in addition to their regular scans. After the prostate is removed, the tissue will be scanned again using a special camera to get a better look at the cancer. A special tool will also be used to measure the cancer in the removed tissue.
- Who can participate: Men with high-grade prostate cancer, specifically Gleason grade group 3-5, who are scheduled for prostate removal can participate. They must be able to stay still for a 30-minute imaging scan.
- Study details: Participants will undergo an additional imaging scan before their surgery. After the prostate is removed, the tissue will be studied further using a special camera and an experimental beta probe to measure cancer presence.
