The purpose of this study is to investigate the programming of cochlear implants. Cochlear implants are devices that help people with severe hearing loss by directly stimulating the auditory nerve. This study aims to explore how programming these devices can be improved to enhance hearing outcomes for users.
Participants in this study will undergo various procedures related to cochlear implant programming. This may include adjustments to their device settings to better understand how different programming affects hearing. The study will help gather data on the effectiveness of different programming strategies.
- Who can participate: Adults who have bilateral multichannel cochlear implants and are native English speakers can participate. Participants should have experienced the onset of profound hearing loss after age 3.
- Study details: Participants will engage in activities related to the programming of their cochlear implants. They will receive compensation for their participation.
