Phase N/A

This study investigates the effects of playing video games, either together as a team (cooperative) or against each other (competitive), on how people perceive the quality of their friendships. Perceived friendship quality refers to how good or strong someone feels their friendship is.

Participants in the study will engage in video game sessions where they will either work together with their friend or compete against them. The study aims to observe any changes in how participants view their friendship after these gaming sessions.

  • Who can participate: Participants must be between 18 and 25 years old and identify their co-participant as a friend. The pairs should be same-sex and not romantically involved.
  • Study details: Participants will actively engage in video games in either cooperative or competitive settings with a friend. They will self-report on how these interactions affect their feelings about their friendship.
