Summary
The purpose of this study is to obtain hematopoietic stem cells (blood stem cells) from a subject?s blood. Once the cells are isolated, the cells will be tested to see if they can correct the dysfunction in the retina of a mouse model of age related macular degeneration. The response of subject?s cells will be compared to those of individuals with different degrees of severity of AMD and to healthy individuals. The animal model has the ability to accept human cells without rejecting the cells.
Description
