Summary
The objective of this study is to evaluate histopathologic changes that occur in intestine/ multivisceral transplants. During intestine/ multivisceral transplantation, external nerves connected to the intestine are cut off, which could potentially alter intestinal motility. We believe that this extrinsic denervation may have an effect on nerve and muscle tissue in the small intestine.
Description
