A Pilot Study of the Incremental Prognostic Value of Strain Echocardiography in Lung Cancer Patients

Summary

The purpose of this study is to see how lung cancer can make small changes to heart function.

Description

We will enroll approximately 120 patients with diagnosed stage III-IV lung cancer (NSCLC and SCLC). We will then obtain echocardiograms with longitudinal strain measurements every 3 months for 18 months. Additional data to be collected will include medical comorbidities, demographics, traditional echo measurements, current medications, and radiation/chemotherapy history.
