Summary
The purpose of this study is to determine why the human immune system vigorously attacks pig tissues, and to determine if clinically used immunosuppressive strategies can mitigate this response. This study hopes to minimize immune-mediated destruction of pig tissues to enable the use of pigs as organ donors for human beings suffering from organ failure.
