Summary
The purpose of this study is to develop phosphorus absorption test methods to gain a better understanding of how people absorb phosphorus from their food.
Description
The purpose of this research is to elucidate factors that influence and regulate intestinal P absorption. This fundamental knowledge will be the basis for developing innovative strategies for controlling abnormal P metabolism in CKD. The absorption methods developed in this proposal will be applied to future studies that will generate unique data on P absorption from meals composed of different dietary P sources.
