Summary
The purpose of this study is to determine if a vaccine, ASP0113, prevents or reduces cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections and complications resulting from the infection and to determine how safe ASP0113 is in patients who receive a kidney transplant.
Description
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a new vaccine (ASP0113) in reducing the incidence of cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in the blood for the first year following transplant in patients that are at high risk for developing CMV; patients that are CMV seronegative and receive a kidney donor from a donor that is CMV seropositive.
