The purpose of this research project is to apply participatory design (PD) methods to identify appropriate applications, designs, and deployment methods for socially assistive robots and distributed sensors in patient-centered care for independently-living older adults diagnosed with clinical depression and co-occurring physical illness, with the aim of preventing their institutionalization.
