Summary
The purpose of this study is to describe the clinical and economic outcomes after first diagnosis of mitral valve regurgitation (MR) recorded in the INPC; assess differences in these outcomes between patients with mild, moderate, and severe MR compared to patients with no MR; and identify characteristics of patients at first diagnosis of MR that predict who will experience an adverse event, specifically hospitalization for heart failure or death; and identify characteristics of patients at first diagnosis of MR that predict which of them will be high-cost patients.
Description
