Summary
The main reason for this study is to see if ART-123 can reduce death in patients who have severe sepsis which results in problems with the way their blood clots and can cause at least one or more of their organs (heart or lungs) to not work properly and in some cases fail.
Description
The purpose of this study is to determine whether ART-123 can reduce mortality when administered to subjects with infection complicated by at least 1 organ dysfunction and coagulopathy.
