Summary
The purpose of this study is to ascertain a better understanding of African American females formal schooling experiences, specifically their experiences in mathematics and science classrooms and informal learning experiences; to examine the impact of informal STEM learning on African American female students' academic self-efficacy, outcome expectations, interests, choices, and goals; and to develop an understanding of what Black parents and/or guardians need to support the development of their daughter as learners of mathematics and young ladies in general.
