Summary
The purpose of this study is to understand why heart failure happens in FRDA.
Description
The purpose of this study is to obtain metabolic imaging of the heart (PET scanning), echocardiography, EKG, physical examination, and 45 cc of whole blood from patients with FRDA, ages 18 years old to adult, for analysis. The goal of this study is to determine if there are metabolic markers that will correlate with severity of disease in FRDA.
