Improving Vaccine-Preventable Disease Reporting and Surveillance through Health Information Exchange

  • STATUS
    Not Recruiting
Updated on 19 February 2024

Summary

Given rapid growth in the deployment and use of integrated, computerized information infrastructures that have the capacity for improving disease reporting, we propose to examine the deployment of an intervention that can pre-populate provider-based case reporting forms using data from a health information exchange (HIE) for VPD. We seek to explore whether the intervention, aimed at providers, can improve VPD reporting rates as well as how such an intervention can be implemented in an integrated infrastructure involving heterogeneous electronic systems.
