Summary
This new survey, adapted from The Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE), is designed to capture the experiences, professional development, and perceptions of graduate students who teach undergraduate students. Currently little is known at the national level about the experiences of grad students who serve as teachers. The purpose of FSSE-G is to fill in this gap in knowledge and provide actionable information to institutions concerned with how graduate student instructors contribute to undergraduate education. By gleaning graduate instructors? perceptions of engagement with teaching, institutions are better positioned to identify areas of strength as well as areas needing improvement.
