This study investigates whether certain substances that lead to bone destruction are increased in the blood or bone marrow of individuals with multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer that affects plasma cells, which are a part of the immune system.
Participants will undergo blood tests and bone marrow examinations to measure the levels of these substances. These procedures help researchers understand the relationship between these substances and bone health.
- Who can participate: Adults with a diagnosis of multiple myeloma, who are not pregnant, not allergic to xylocaine, and not participating in another study, are eligible.
- Study details: Participants will provide blood samples and may have bone marrow examinations. A placebo will not be used.
