This study investigates the use of an investigational medication to treat irritability and aggression in individuals who have experienced a traumatic brain injury. Traumatic brain injury, or TBI, occurs when a sudden trauma causes damage to the brain, which can lead to changes in behavior, including increased irritability and aggression.

Participants in this study will receive either the investigational medication or a placebo. A placebo is an inactive substance that looks like the investigational medicine but does not contain any medicine. Participants will be monitored for changes in their behavior to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.

  • Who can participate: Adults who suffered a closed head injury at least 6 months ago and experience irritability or aggression may participate. They must have an observer who can report on their behavior. Individuals who have taken the investigational medication recently, or have certain mental health conditions, are not eligible.
