Summary
The purpose of this study is to define a computable phenotype encompassing terms related to muscle weakness and sarcopenia using clinical data from the EHR; to validate candidate computable phenotypes in large clinical cohorts in the EHR; and to test the hypothesis that muscle weakness and sarcopenia detected in clinical records correlates with measurable health outcomes including, but not limited to, falls, fractures, hospitalizations, other morbidities and mortality.
