Summary
The Culturally Engaging Campus Environments (CECE) project aims to collect valid, reliable, usable data about how campus environments shape the experiences and outcomes of diverse populations. It is both a research project and a source of assessment data for participating colleges and universities in the United States and abroad. The primary purpose of the project is to meet the growing need for college and university campuses to have access to empirical data regarding the experiences of racially diverse populations, including students, faculty, and staff, and the extent to which these populations experience culturally relevant and culturally responsive campus environments. Although college and university researchers have readily available tools to understand campus climate, there is a dearth of tools available to understand what the institution is doing well; the CECE Project offers use of an instrument (the CECE Survey) that can offer this perspective.
