Summary
Different people break down opium based medicines like oxycodone at different speeds. The speed at which the medicine is broken down is controlled at least in part by a person?s genetics. In this study, the subjects' blood will be tested to see how ?fast? or ?slow? they are at breaking down oxycodone. The sample will also be used to see if there is any link between genetics and the safety of oxycodone in children.
