Corneal Endothelial Function in Health and Disease

  • STATUS
    Not Recruiting
Updated on 19 February 2024

Summary

In this collaborative study project, 30 patients with corneal disorders will be recruited for experiments to investigate the health of their corneal endothelium to investigate the hypothesis that endothelial dysfunction can be evaluated by characterizing the barrier and pump functions. The long term goal is to evaluate the barrier and pump functions of the corneal endothelium in Fuchs dystrophy and in keratoconus following collagen cross-linking (CxL).The current application seeks to establish a protocol for assessing the barrier and pump functions in a limited number of subjects and can be considered a pilot study towards our long term goals.
