Summary
Current colorectal cancer surveillance guidelines after colonoscopy and polyp removal are based on characteristics of the polyps removed. However, more recent studies have shown that operator-specific factors are also important, specifically the adenoma detection rate (ADR). We hypothesize that colonoscopy quality metrics, notably ADR of the endoscopist performing baseline examination, are associated with risk of cancer on surveillance colonoscopy.
