Summary
The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of performing ultrasound (US) Shear wave Elastography (SWE) of the brain in neonates and young infants. We hypothesize that we will be able to perform adequate quality SWE routinely during clinical head ultrasound in 100% of the infants. To examine this, we will assess what percentage of US SWE images obtained are of diagnostic quality i.e. without noise or artifact; and to identify whether Quantitative ultrasound (QUS) and Shear wave elastography (SWE) can identify differences in brain parenchyma in preterm ventriculomegaly
