Summary
This study will use Medicare claims data from 2012 through 2020 as well as data collected as part of the OPTIMISTIC clinical program to evaluate the impact of the initiative. Specifically, this study seeks to identify changes in the numbers and types of nursing home residents' transfers to the hospital, the outcomes of these transfers, as well as usage rates and outcomes associated with the use of program-specific billing codes.
