The purpose of this study is to explore making activities with children from Bloomington, IN, who attend workshops throughout the year with Indiana Kids (https://www.in.gov/serveindiana/2593.htm), a project sponsored by the state education department that brings kids and organizations (including Indiana University) together for activities and learning opportunities. Researchers aim to determine what types of STEM learning take place when children are engaged in fun, interest-driven maker activities such as crafts (e.g., knitting, sewing, weaving) and coding (e.g., programming games and robotics).
