Summary
The purpose of this study is to test the ability of a new photographic camera to collect sharp images of the retina and to study the retina in normal and diseased eyes.
Description
In this study, we investigate new non-invasive optical modalities that are rapid, specific, and that hold the promise of greatly expanding our capability to monitor more accurately and completely structure and physiologic processes of the retina at the cellular scale. The resulting ability to study individual cells, in vivo, promises improvements in early detection and treatment monitoring for diseases, including the leading causes of blindness: glaucoma, macular degeneration, and retinitis pigmentosa.
