High Dose IL-2 and the Incidence Predictors and Management of Cardiovascular Complications and Other Outcomes
-
- STATUS
- Not Recruiting
Summary
This study is the result of a deficit in evidenced based knowledge noted by the investigators in both the field of oncology as well as cardiology. Specifically, IL-2 is a drug used to treat different forms of cancer. IL-2 has a number of known side effects, one of which is myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart tissue. The specific approach to identifying the degree of this inflammation and its corresponding management is lacking in the literature. The ability to predict who is at risk for this complication and how it is best managed is not known. The investigators noted this and determined the number of patients treated at within the IU system would be a suitable starting place to open an academic discussion on this drug and its complications.
