Contact Information for Child Subjects in PBS (KID)

Summary
This is not a study. The KID database contains child names, parent names, addresses, telephone numbers and dates of birth for children born in Monroe County. Parent names, child names and dates of birth, as recorded in the public birth record, are received monthly from the Monroe County Public Health Department. These public birth records are picked up at the Public Health Department by a researcher who is an IRB approved co-investigator and delivered to the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences. Clerical staff in PBS use public information sources (the white pages) to locate addresses and phone numbers. For births for which contact information is found, the names, dates of birth, and contact information are entered into a secure and password protected database. For the generalizability of the research, it is critical that we sample the entire population of the county and not just restricted subsets of individuals.
