This study aims to compare differences in how the vocal folds vibrate and the speech sounds produced between transmasculine (female-to-male transgender) subjects taking prescribed masculinizing hormones (e.g., testosterone) and biological male and female speakers, and determine which features of voice and speech are most associated with gender identification and speaker characteristics na?ve listeners perceive when hearing habitual versus more masculinized voice productions.
